These are style rewrites, not translations
The site swaps words and spellings using word lists and simple rules. It does not understand grammar or meaning, and it does not use AI.
- Old English style gives modern English an old-fashioned look. It is not Old English (Anglo-Saxon), the language spoken in England before about 1150. Real Old English has different words, grammar, and spelling, and a modern speaker can't read it without study.
- Middle English style and Shakespearean style imitate the feel of older writing. They are not historically accurate reconstructions.
- Runic letters replace each English letter with a rune-like character. The words stay English; this is not Old Norse or any other historical language.
- Slang and accent styles (such as Gen Z slang or Southern accent) are light-hearted imitations. They don't represent how every speaker talks, and they are not meant to mock anyone.
Tattoos, engravings, and anything permanent
Do not use a result from this site for a tattoo, engraving, jewelry, gravestone, or any other permanent item without having it checked by a qualified specialist, such as a historical linguist or a language community. Online translators, including this one, often get these things wrong. We are not responsible for the cost of any permanent item or its removal.
School and academic work
Results are not suitable as a source for homework, essays, or research about historical languages. If your teacher asked for real Old or Middle English, use a dictionary or textbook.
Names of styles
Style names describe a way of writing. They are not connected to, or endorsed by, any film, book, game, or company.
